Road bike tour

Road bike tours with itineraries suitable for everyone, for those who want to travel and have fun pedaling and for those with good training, stamina and decent technical ability.

Starting from Piano Battaglia we take visitors on new routes and secondary roads but also in the splendid villages of the high Madonie with tours of medium or great difficulty, guide and mechanical assistance in tow.

To travel the routes independently, ask for more information at reception. GPX tracks are available.

Piano Battaglia - Polizzi Generosa - Bivio Firrionello - Collesano - Piano Battaglia; length 64.3 km, difference in altitude 1,542 m

You go down in the direction Polizzi Generosa and continue in the said area Polizzi's gardens for the lush vegetation. Arrived at Firrionello crossroads you go up towards Portella di Mare, where you can admire the view of the Sicilian coast. After a short descent from Collesano begins the climb up to Battle Plan with Mount Mufara in front of us and passing from 600 to 1,600 meters we will admire the changes in vegetation from olive trees to holm oaks and finally to the splendid beech forest.

Stops for lunch: in Collesano we recommend the trattoria La lanterna or the Agriturismo Casale Drinzi, located immediately after leaving the town.

TOUR OF THE MADONITE VILLAGES; Length 75.6 km, Difference in altitude 1,845 m

Tour of the small Madonie villages unknown to most, always pedaling at high altitude.

We recommend doing the tour in a full day, to have time to visit all the villages. The route does not include crossing villages. But visiting the villages is a "must": Petralia Sottana, Pianello, Cipampini, Gangi and Petralia SopranThey are worth a visit inside.

From km 23 of the Pianello crossroads to km 41 at the foot of Gangi you cross a small provincial road in the middle of the countryside and villages of the Sicilian hinterland of rare beauty and "solitude". Very few cars and you can enjoy the landscapes and cycling in peace. The only flaw is the quality of the road and asphalt, so caution is recommended. Start the stretch with full water bottles and food supplies as you won't come across any bars...

At km 60.3 you will begin a short descent and also in this case great caution is advised, the descent is bumpy with potholes and uneven asphalt.
